Manchester United are reportedly targeting Benfica talisman Goncalo Ramos. It is rumored that Utd’s officials have have made official contact with the Portuguese U21 international representative. Erik Ten Hag is believed to be an admirer of the 21 year old forward who has already netted 8 goals in 12 appearances for Benfica this season and is keen to bring this young talent to old Trafford.

The search for an all round striker is key to the Utd’s gaffer as Christiano Ronaldo’s future remain in limbo as he is still in search for football elsewhere. The Red Devils are short of striking options at the moment as Marcus Rushford and Anthony Martial are sidelined with injuries leaving them with want a way CR7.

Utd have already spent £230M in the just concluded summer transfer window & look to have a quiet January window with Ramos the only target Ten Hag has his hands on.

Set to move to a major European league in the coming years, Goncalo Ramos has been hitting headlines with his scoring ability and has carried on where he left last season when he was playing along side Darwin Nunez who has since moved to Liverpool FC in the summer transfer for a fee of €100M. Ramos has a total of 20 goals in 59 appearances for Benfica.

Erik Ten Hag’s men started off the season with back to back losses before picking up form which saw them beat their bitter rivals Liverpool and Arsenal.

Although Newcastle kept tabs on Goncalo over the summer transfer window, Eddie Howe had to settle for Alexander Isak who came in for a fee of £63M
